Study Abroad - Italy Winter 2019-2020

Have you ever looked back at an event in your life and thought to yourself “Wow, I really was in the right place at the right time”? That’s how I feel about my trip to Italy (Sadly, I did not study abroad at the Jersey Shore, and had to settle on going to Italy instead despite my gif selection). On December 26th, 2019, I boarded a plane in Washington D.C. that had the destination of Rome, Italy and my very own Lizzie McGuire Movie adventure. I went from Rome to Florence, later on to Bologna and finished the whirlwind of a journey in Milan. The emphasis of my trip was studying the luxury goods industry while gaining as many cultural experiences as humanly possible. Key-word in that sentence was “studying” since I very soon realized my wallet and luxury goods were sworn enemies. I documented my journey through the photos below and while they may look like just pictures to you, to me, they represent 3-weeks of personal growth and self-reflection. Now why did I feel like I was in the right place at the right time? You never know what life is going to throw at you, and as we all know, life through a pandemic our way this year (So rude…). If I had let this opportunity pass me by, I truly don’t think I would have forgiven myself. So my ongoing piece of advice for when the world gets back to normal: don’t let opportunities pass you by, take them on and live the life that you thought you could only dream of cause hey now, hey now, that is what dreams are made of ☻
